Some people are trying to protect themselves from parasites by using antibiotics, such as erythromycin, azithromycin, and erythromycin-dalfopristin. These drugs can actually cause a parasitic infection of the skin, lungs, or kidneys if used for long periods. Some products are marketed to treat a variety of diseases, such as: heartburn, intestinal parasites, stomach ulcers, skin diseases, allergies, and more. However, some products actually worsen these diseases. If you think you or your child is at risk of infection from parasites, please consult your healthcare provider for a detailed assessment of the parasite's presence and possible treatment options. Pesticide sprays, such as erythromycin-tamoxifen-methyl, are often promoted as the best way to reduce the amount of parasites in your system. Some of these products may be safe, but they are not always helpful. Many people are unaware that most erythromycin-tamoxifen-methyl products are actually not effective. It's best to consult with your physician before trying any new drug or herbal product. As a final word, I would like to give a special thank you to Dr. J. Steven Johnson, who has been involved in the development of these products. This post was originally published on Healthier Living. It has been republished with permission.
